Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Degreed Accountant to join our team in a remote work capacity. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling various accounting tasks, including journal entries, monthly close processes, and reconciliations. Will report directly to CFO and there will be advancement opportunities as the company grows.

Responsibilities:

1. Journal Entries:

  • Prepare and post accurate and timely journal entries in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Analyze financial transactions to ensure proper classification and recording in the general ledger.

2. Monthly Close:

  • Lead the monthly close process, ensuring all financial activities are accurately reflected in the financial statements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information for month-end close.

3. Reconciliations:

  • Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Review and reconcile various accounts, including bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

4. Financial Reporting:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports.
  • Provide analysis and commentary on financial results to support management decision-making.

5. Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Support external audits by providing documentation and explanations as needed.

6. Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in accounting procedures.
  • Collaborate with the team to implement best practices in accounting processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor"s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • Proven experience in accounting, with a focus on monthly closing responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
  • Quickbooks Online experience required.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
