Job Summary
Billing Department/Accounts Receivable Specialist: Works as part of the billing team to maintain a strong revenue cycle process.
About the Accounts Receivable Specialist Role
As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Responsible for using proper systems to evaluate patient accounts, contacting patients for payment, and sending accounts to collections as needed.
- Management and resolution of all work ques related to patient accounts receivable
- Back up to insurance credentialing
- Manages time between multiple accounts, work queues, and patients calls throughout the day.
- Manages bankruptcy accounts
- Works with billing team to resolve credit accounts
- Obtains VA dialysis and office appointment referrals
- Manages address changes/undeliverable and returned mail
Job Qualifications
- Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent substitute.
- Minimum Experience: 2 years; combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experience.
- Minimum Certifications and/or Licenses: Certified Procedural Coder preferred but not necessary.
- Minimum Skills: Experience with EMR, MS Word, Excel, MS outlook.
- Epic EMR experience preferred.
- Previous accounts receivable experience required.
- Knowledge of Basic CPT and ICD 10 coding.
- Must be comfortable working with insurance companies and patients over the phone to resolve account balances
