Job Description

We are looking for also a mid-level associate (3-6) years that could take on handling their own files more quickly and have deposition experience. This position would be $130k - $160k depending on experience that is relevant to us. Below is a brief description of the positions:

  • LITIGATION ASSOCIATE ATTY. – Small and stable West Los Angeles insurance defense firm (founded in 2000) seeks an associate attorney (1-6 years) to join its civil litigation group handing the defense of construction defect, personal injury, premises liability, and product liability cases. The firm provides a supportive and instructional environment to improve the skills of its attorneys, with the absence of office drama. Opportunity to handle own files, write and argue motions, mediate, and take and defend depositions. Prior deposition experience and electronic billing experience is preferred, but not required. Position is a full-time, salaried position, that can transition from in-office to hybrid. Benefits include health care, 401K, bonus for billing over the minimum billable hours, paid Bar dues and MCLE, paid parking or public transportation, and individual window offices. Salary is commensurate with experience relevant to our firm.

  • We are open to full remote and would pay more for an associate with at least 1-2 years of construction defect insurance defense experience.

  • We are also looking for a calendar clerk to handle calendaring for the all the attorneys at the firm (currently 3 litigation attorneys, and 2 non-litigation attorneys, but should increase to 5 litigation attorneys). We will train the calendar clerk on our calendaring program, Law Tool Box. Position also requires very good written and verbal communication skills, drafting Judicial Council Forms such as CMC Statements and form letters, handling overflow phones, and assisting other Legal Assistants in finalizing, filing, and serving documents. This is a full-time, in-office position. Hours would be 8-5 with an hour lunch, or 8-4:30 with a ½ hour lunch. Pay is $25-$30/hr. Benefits include health care, 401K, and paid parking or public transportation.
