What You'll Do:
Principal is seeking an Assistant Director, Client Relationship! The Assistant Director will lead a team of Defined Contribution Client Service Managers in a manner that ensures high quality, efficient service, to attract and retain profitable clients in our target market. Your day could look like:

  • Strategic Customer Engagement
    : Provide advice, expertise, and mentorship to staff, peers, and/or customers on sophisticated issues. Use creativity, analytical, problem-solving skills and in-depth product knowledge for optimally arriving at solutions for retaining clients at risk and resolving sophisticated client issues.
  • Transformational Leadership: Communicate a compelling vision and empower teams to implement business strategies efficiently. Identify and nurture high-potential direct reports, actively contributing to corporate and business unit initiatives. Provide support and guidance to drive for exceptional client service.
  • Control/Management: Develop and implement detailed action plans to optimize cost management, ensuring alignment with RIS objectives. Regularly communicate performance results to staff and management. Find opportunities to enhance cost-effectiveness, productivity, and revenue generation.
  • Operations Management: Communicate and coordinate business unit goals and objectives so that direct reports can effectively implement appropriate strategies to attain goals and objectives. Collaborate with operational teams to optimize the client experience.
  • Compliance: Provide oversight and expertise to ensure government, industry/professional, and company requirements are met. Stay current on industry requirements and trends.

Who You Are:
  • You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, plus 7+ years related work experience within the retirement industry.
  • You have strong leadership ability, effective communication and decision-making skills, and are able to influence for results and facilitate change.
  • You are knowledgeable in retirement plan design, products, services, procedures, systems, and controls.

Salary Range Information: Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salary Range: $123000 - $167000 / year Time Off Program: Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided. Pension Eligible: Yes Additional Information:

Work Environments

This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, or Charlotte, NC). You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
