ABOUT THIS ROLE

Associations International (AI) is an association management company based in Lexington, KY, who partners with non-profit trade and career associations. Our job is to help those non-profits meet their mission and grow their membership through the work of our talented, dedicated team.

Our client partner, the International Coaching Federation (ICF), is seeking a Business Data Strategist to join their Research & Data Science division! As the Business Data Strategist, you will collaborate with IT and data professionals, business representatives, and leadership to provide insights and information through visualizations, presentations, dashboards, queries, and reports. The Business Data Strategist will also be responsible for developing performance measurement frameworks. This position will report to the Director of Strategic Analytics.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze data and provide ongoing reports
  • Develop database tables for querying and reporting
  • Filter and clean data in preparation for analysis
  • Turn data into insights that improve business decisions
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators
  • Support the analytics department’s strategic, tactical, and operational objectives
  • Support ICF’s strategic, tactical, and operational objectives
  • Assist in budget and campaign planning
  • Boost data literacy of ICF personnel by delivering training and other resources
  • Facilitate user empowerment in strategy formation through their use of data and analytics
  • Participate in the development of data governance policies and lead the organization in the application of standards
  • Maintain the data glossary and data asset catalog, including documenting business rules and processes
  • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
  • Stay abreast of analytics best practices, data analysis and statistical techniques, tools, and technologies
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Undergraduate degree in data analytics, data science, mathematics, statistics or related quantitative field or equivalent education and related training and experience
  • Basic understanding of statistical data modeling
  • Ability to identify patterns and trends in complex data sets
  • Experience with data visualization and reporting techniques and tools (examples include Tableau and Microsoft Power BI)
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a business group
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Experience documenting processes and sources of data for reproducible data analysis
  • Experience communicating data science concepts to groups with diverse skillsets and backgrounds
  • Knowledge or experience with database and statistical analysis tools (examples include SAS, SPSS, SQL, Stata, R, and Python)
  • Experience with association management software, such as NetForum
