CLOUD ENGINEERING TEAM LEAD

WORK AND TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS:
This is a full-time position. This position can be remote on the East Coast preferably or Hybrid at either our Independence, Ohio, or Emerald Isle, North Carolina locations. Approximately 5-15% travel will be required. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

ABOUT THE POSITION AND OUR TEAM:
TransImpact is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Engineering Team Lead to oversee our cloud infrastructure on both AWS and Azure platforms. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud technologies, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to drive innovation and efficiency in our cloud environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage and optimize TransImpact's cloud infrastructure on both AWS and Azure.
  • Implement best practices for scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement a comprehensive cloud strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure TransImpact's cloud environment remains cutting-edge.
  • Oversee the deployment and configuration of applications and services on cloud platforms.
  • Implement and maintain automation processes to streamline operational tasks.
  • Implement and enforce security best practices and compliance standards in the cloud environment.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
  • Monitor cloud resource usage and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Develop and implement strategies to manage and control cloud-related expenses.
  • Lead and mentor a team of cloud engineers and administrators and foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the cloud team.
  • Provide technical expertise and support for complex cloud-related issues and collaborate with other IT teams to resolve cross-functional issues.
  • Job Responsibilities and any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and support our organization’s values.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • 5+ years of experience in Cloud Management or Cloud Architecture
  • Minimum BS in Computer Science or equivalent providing skills to achieve the Professional Requirements.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Knowledge of serverless computing and microservices architecture.
  • Previous experience in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Microsoft PowerBI experience is a plus.
  • Accomplished hands-on manager with a specialization in Azure.
  • Proven track record in cost optimization and adept at cloud budget management.
  • Strong comprehension of cloud architecture, spanning IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
  • Expertise in Data Infrastructure Management, particularly with SQL.
  • Proficient in networking, VPC, Peering, and Firewall technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of security and compliance in cloud environments.
  • Scripting for efficient task automation.
  • Well-versed in DevOps practices and tools for seamless continuous integration and deployment.
  • Demonstrates outstanding leadership and communication skills.
