POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Senior Commercial Insurance Account Manager is an experienced and P&C-licensed insurance professional who provides a high level of support to clients, carrier representatives, underwriters, business partners, and colleagues. This person functions well autonomously and is experienced in middle/large market submissions. Provides new and existing commercial lines clients with exceptional customer service and support, working to assist our sales producers and Agency Manager. This person will be well-versed in providing timely and accurate feedback to client inquiries, submitting proposals to carriers and brokers, and processing renewals.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversees the preparation and implementation of all transactions, paperwork, and internal processing for assigned accounts

• Acquires understanding of clients’ insurance objectives and critically analyzes and compares insurance plans to determine suitability

• Stays abreast of changes in the insurance industry and other external conditions that may impact their clients. Makes appropriate recommendations to clients in response to those changes independent of manager approval

• Process new business, renewals, endorsements and other client/policy requests

• Manages a book of insurance business, while acting with a high degree of independent discretion, autonomy, and decision-making

• May be responsible for account rounding and the development of new business as appropriate and in accordance with standard practices, policies, and procedures

• Acts as liaison between clients and insurance carriers to resolve escalated complex service issues that require policy interpretation and experience-based judgment to resolve

• Responsible for overall retention of accounts in assigned book of business

• Develops new business from existing accounts and assigned leads and contribute to meeting departmental production goals. Identifies and follows up on cross-selling opportunities when appropriate

• Manages, organizes, and conducts client meetings when necessary

• Appropriately documents conversations with clients and carrier representatives and updates all automated agency management systems when necessary. Ensures the accuracy of data in those systems

• Travels on company business as required

• Negotiates with underwriters and carriers

• Troubleshoots claims and billing issues

• Adhere to our agency’s standards and those of the contracted carriers and brokers

• Manages, organizes, and conducts client meetings when necessary • Issue Certificates of Insurance

• Invoices applicable transactions

• Utilizes agency management system to its fullest for E&O purposes including appropriately documenting conversations with clients and carrier representatives, storing policy documents, and tracking of the sales cycle.

• Ensures the accuracy of data in those systems



Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years submitting and supporting multi-line commercial mid/large market account

• Licensed for 5 years in Property and Casualty

• Prior experience working with an independent brokerage or agency

• Experience identifying account rounding opportunities and suggesting applicable coverage(s)

• Prior Account Manager or Account Support experience for 5 years

• High School diploma required

• Experience in using an agency management system

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

• Ability and willingness to utilize the company’s computer system and software

• Strong typing skills with an ability to compose clear and concise letters

• Ability to understand policy forms and coverage descriptions

• Organizational skills required

• Willingness to attend educational classes desired

• High attention to detail essential

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree preferred

• Experience with AMS agency management system
