Job Title: Community Outreach Specialist (Part-Time)

(REMOTE POSITION - Must reside in or near Brattleboro, VT)

Position engaged in raising awareness and teaching Medicare beneficiaries, their family members, and caregivers how to prevent, detect, and report Medicare Fraud.

Primary Qualifications

• Education

4-year college degree in business, humanities or other related field; Or

• Experience

Two – five years’ experience in community development activities and public speaking preferred.

• Special Skills

Culturally connected with the local community. Must be able to use basic computer programs such as Word and Excel and be comfortable with Internet communication and research. Must pass a background check.

• Physical

Moderate physical activity to include occasionally moving, lifting, or pulling up to 25 lbs. Normal manual dexterity and mental and visual attention

• Other

This is a work-from-home position, but some travel is required.

Essential Responsibilities

• Conduct education sessions and one-on-one counseling with Medicare beneficiaries.
• Conduct presentations to providers, stakeholders, and other interested groups or programs, and participate in related conferences, events, exhibits as necessary.
• Conduct environmental scans of the community to determine appropriate venues and activities for presentation of SMP materials.
• Assists volunteers in the completion of tasks and assignments to ensure continuity of service.
• Participate in teams, task forces, workgroups & special projects as requested by supervisor.
• Identifies opportunities and recommends methods to improve service, work processes and financial performance, e.g. expense management. Assists in the implementation of quality improvement initiatives.

Pay: From $20.50 per hour
