Job Description

Are you passionate about Data Practices and Compliance? Look no further, DVS is seeking a Data Practices Audit Administrator!

In this position you will ensure that Driver and Vehicle Services data is in compliance with all applicable federal and state statutes related to data privacy. This position is responsible for managing the appeal and reinstatement request process for individuals subject to disciplinary action for misuse of DVS data. This position will also coordinate and perform external compliance audits of governmental agencies and/or private businesses to ensure that their use of DVS data conforms to the approved use.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  1. One year of Professional experience or 3 years of technical/administrative experience in legal services, data privacy and/or conducting audits fairly and in an impartial manner.
  2. Time management skills to successfully coordinate audit and appeal functions, generate reports and outcome documentation in a timely manner.
  3. Ability to exercise appropriate discretion and maintain confidentiality as needed.
  4. Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. 

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Specific knowledge of and experience with the MN Data Practices Act, public safety and driver and motor vehicle related statutes and rules and related federal laws such as the Driver's Privacy Protection Act (DPPA).
  2. Ability to adapt to organizational change and work constructively under pressure.
  3. Determine and follow methodology for generating and maintaining comprehensive and understandable reports that document audit and appeal activity and related compliance.

Physical Requirements

Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file folders and small tools. May need to maintain a
stationary position for long periods of time while carrying out job duties.
