Ready to revolutionize Power & Controls embedded software development? Join us as a visionary DevSecOps Software Lead, spearheading innovation and efficiency in our Digital Engineering, DevOps team. In this role, you'll drive the design and implementation of cutting-edge DevSecOps pipelines, accelerating growth and embracing a test-driven software development approach!

This position offers remote work flexibility with expected working hours in CST/EST. The ideal candidate will be open to periodic engagement near Rockford, Illinois and Windsor Locks, CT, with travel expected to be around 15%.

What YOU will do:

  • You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement efficient DevSecOps pipelines tailored to Power & Controls embedded software development, driving innovation, and streamlined processes.

  • You will develop automated test, continuous integration, and continuous delivery processes to enhance efficiency and accelerate software development cycles.

  • You will architect, implement, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines, shaping the future of software delivery.

  • You will select, configure, and integrate tools to enhance software development flow, optimizing productivity and performance.

  • You will work closely with the DevOps Manager and Enterprise Digital Product Life Cycle (DPLC) team to understand and adapt DevOps practices, ensuring alignment with the specific needs of Power & Controls programs and driving continuous improvement.

  • You will provide DevSecOps implementation expertise to assist Power & Controls embedded project teams in adopting DevSecOps tools and best practices, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.

  • You will enable development teams to automate artifact generation and effectively manage product lifecycles, promoting efficiency and quality.
    You will automate software releases while ensuring quality, cybersecurity, and safety requirements are met, driving excellence in software delivery.

  • You will drive behavioral and test-driven development practices to enhance software design, implementation, and test automation, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

  • You will design, develop, and maintain dashboards displaying DevSecOps metrics, measures, performance, and continuous improvement, enabling data-driven decision-making and driving success in Power & Controls embedded software development.

Education & Experience:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications you must have:

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

  • 5+ years of experience in Embedded Product Software Environment with aerospace certification DO178, DO330/331 or equivalent.

  • 2+ years setting up, managing, and leveraging DevSecOps software factory/tools pipelines for embedded software products.

  • Expertise in DevSecOps/DevOps for software development, integration, and delivery in aerospace industry.

  • Strong knowledge of aerospace standards, certifications, and compliance.

  • Proficient in DevOps CI/CD Pipeline development

  • DevSecOps Agile Methodologies.

  • Experience with Virtualization, Cloud Strategy, Security, CI/CD, Test Automation.

  • Familiarity with Safety Critical Software Development, Infrastructure as Code, Performance Monitoring.

Skills we value:

  • Proficient with software process tools like Polarion ALM Tools Suite, Gitlab, VSCode, Eclipse, Jenkins, Matlab, Polyspace, Coverity, Artifactory, Rapita, Robot Framework, Grafana.

  • Skilled in Object or Component-Oriented Development Software.

  • Experienced in Software Version Control.

  • Familiar with Systems Administration.

  • Knowledgeable in API Integration.

Employee Referral Eligible

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
