Job Description

PerkinElmer is seeking a director with a broad-based financial background to lead its corporate accounting and consolidation team. Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer is a key member of the Finance organization, responsible for the operation and management of the financial control processes and methodology including business controllership. He/she will have significant relevant experience with all areas of financial accounting and controls in addition to relationship management within finance, supply chain, operations, and all other commercial activity.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the financial accounting of the company to ensure all financial data is accurate and provided in a timely manner.
  • Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership for the function, coordinating activities and managing direct and indirect reports to achieve the goals and initiatives needed to ensure success including, but not limited to, the following areas:
    • Closing process (timely, accurate, efficient)
    • Accounting policy
    • Control environment
  • Manage all monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings, including account reconciliations, accrual schedules and general journal entries, ensuring that reconciliations are performed accurately and on-time.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flows)
  • Assist in accurate and timely reporting of financial information to lenders and other credit reporting requirements.
  • Manage annual external audit preparation and oversight and collaborates with external public accounting team to comply with local statutory and US GAAP accounting requirements and standards.
  • Meet all reporting and compliance requirements including maintaining financial objectives, policies, and controls.
  • Support the SEC Filings, audit committee and other financial presentations
  • Align, establish and drive monthly and quarterly close schedules, deadlines, and key meetings with internal partners.
  • Streamline, maintain, and improve processes and internal controls.
  • Manage finance integration workstreams for future potential acquisitions including purchase accounting, and integration of target’s finance staff, processes, systems, and controls.
  • Own Finance IT systems in partnership with IT leadership (HFM, SAP, etc.)
  • Lead Corporate accounting team and manage global consolidation of Company financial data
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience managing external audit processes, monthly close and reporting cycle, reporting and compliance.
  • Experience working in the publicly traded company preferred, private equity and debt markets experience a plus.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8-15+ years diverse accounting experience including experience as an assistant controller or a corporate controller in a complex global company; Big 4 public accounting experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited college or university, preferably in accounting; MBA preferred but not required.
  • Current CPA preferred

The annual compensation range for this full-time position is $162,000 to $244,000. The final base pay offered to the successful candidate will be determined by factors including internal equity, work location, as well as individual qualifications, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
