Job Description:

We are seeking a Director of Delivery and Customer Success to oversee our Delivery Team and ensure the success of customer projects. This role is critical in coordinating our delivery processes, managing Proofs of Concept (PoCs), and maintaining high customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical project delivery and team leadership, and will thrive in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment. You will ensure the timely and efficient delivery of HarperDB's technical solutions, coordinating across remote teams and aligning resources to meet customer goals.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery team and coordinate their activities to ensure that customer projects and PoCs are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
  • Oversee the entire project lifecycle from initiation to completion, ensuring successful execution of customer engagements and maximizing customer success.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales and engineering teams to scope and plan PoCs, ensuring the alignment of customer requirements with delivery capabilities.
  • Develop and implement standardized delivery processes, documentation, and procedures to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for delivery-related issues, proactively identifying potential risks and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Manage customer relationships during the delivery phase, ensuring clear communication and satisfaction, and addressing any concerns or obstacles.
  • Monitor project timelines, resource allocation, and deliverables to ensure adherence to project goals, budgets, and timelines.
  • Coordinate the efforts of remote teams across different time zones, ensuring smooth handoffs and efficient collaboration.
  • Continuously assess and improve delivery processes to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
  • Support the growth and development of the delivery team, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure high performance.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years in professional services, consulting, or technical presales in enterprise software
  • Proven leadership in managing remote teams and delivering complex technical projects.
  • Experience working with large enterprise customers with $1B+ in revenue
  • Strong technical expertise in Node.js.
  • Deep knowledge of distributed systems, cloud platforms and real-time data processing.
  • Experience optimizing delivery processes for scalability and efficiency.
  • Experienced in managing Proofs of Concept (PoCs) to successful outcomes.
  • Skilled communicator, able to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills, balancing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficient with project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Asana).
  • Able to work independently in fast-paced environments.

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of HarperDB or similar distributed databases or application platforms.
  • Experience in leading customer success or technical account management teams.

Interview Process

  • 1st Interview: 30 minute Zoom screen with Chief of Staff
  • 2nd Interview: 60 minute Zoom conversation with two members of HarperDB technical team
    • Invitation to complete take home code challenge
  • 3rd Interview: Present code challenge, discuss solution, additional interview questions (typically about 90 minutes, on Zoom)
  • 4th Interview: 30 minute Zoom conversation with HarperDB co-founders
