The pay range is $125,600.00 - $226,100.00

About the Job:

The Director of Strategic Initiatives, Apparel & Accessories Inventory Management, is responsible for driving the Apparel pyramid modernization efforts for Inventory Management in partnership with leaders from planning, merchandising, and enterprise strategy team. You will be a key driver on the enterprise operating model work across many workstreams to ensure the new process and strategy will drive optimal inventory strategy and champion financial discipline and routines. You will be an influential leader across the organization and be skilled at influencing upward to senior leaders to champion change. Enterprise operating model workstreams include, but are not limited to: Speed & Flexibility, Integrated Operating Forecast, Space & Findability, Allocation & Assortment Pack Optimization, Network Topology, Digital Profitability, and the Fast Apparel Model. You will be the voice of the business in multiple system implementations to support Target’s growth and exceeding guests’ expectations. You will engage with cross functional teams across the enterprise to balance financial and guest-facing goals through partnerships and collaboration. You will ensure that outcomes deliver upon pyramid level sales and profit and drive operational efficiency through strong guest reliability. You will be the conduit to the Global Inventory Management team on Enterprise Operating Model efforts in Apparel as they begin to impact or be rolled out further than Apparel. You will be an influential leader within the Global Inventory Management leader group and drive broader inventory management strategies. Additionally, you will partner with the Senior Director of Apparel in support of broader initiatives that will support guest reliability, sales and profit.

Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge Requirements:

  • Knowledge of supply chain and inventory management fundamentals, systems, and practical applications.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to derive actionable insights and forward-thinking recommendations.

  • Ability to tie back to goals and objectives for the team, reviewing competing deliverables and gather inputs needed to make decisions around the importance or urgency of a situation/project/work

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in Inventory Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, Planning and/or Merchandising
  • Prior experience in merchandising or planning functions preferred

This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid (known internally at Target as "Flex for Your Day") work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at a Target location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role may be performed either remote or onsite at a Target location depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target.
