Job Description

This is a remote position.


For over 88 years, we have worked to create trusting relationships with our fire family. The bonds we build are the foundation of our credit union. As the largest, exclusive firefighter credit union in the nation with over $2.0B in assets, we serve over 64,000 members in more than 1,000 fire departments.

Currently, we have an immediate opening for a Director, User Experience to join our team! The Director, User Experience (UX) is responsible for shaping the experience for our members across various digital channels. The Director will lead the development, communication, and execution of our digital marketing strategy while driving our digital transformation through innovation. This will include overseeing all products and services provided to our members and delivering an easy/seamless user experience.

Primary Responsibility:

  • Defining and executing the overall UX strategy and roadmap to align with the credit union’s mission, values, and long-term goals.
  • Overseeing all digital channels, including Websites, Digital Banking, Digital Onboarding, Text Messaging, Push Notifications, Social Media, Email, Paid Media, Third Party Apps, and Marketing Automation.
  • Ensuring our channels are competitive in functionality and meet regulatory compliance.
  • Serving as the primary contact with vendors for Digital Banking and Digital Onboarding.
  • Optimizing systems, ensuring they are meeting service level agreements, and identifying opportunities to enhance user interfaces.
  • Staying abreast of emerging digital experiences and trends to maintain competitiveness within the industry.
  • Managing personalization efforts across digital channels by leveraging data-driven insights to tailor content and messaging to individual user preferences and behaviors.


Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Regularly meeting with each team member to coach and mentor to ensure alignment around FFCU’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Providing team members with training, tools, and resources to successfully perform their jobs.
  • Holding teams accountable for meeting all service level agreements, ensuring the team’s work is accurate/efficient, and providing coaching, feedback, or training as needed.
  • Providing and ensuring development opportunities are available for team members as part of their overall career path with the Credit Union.
  • Leading change by identifying opportunities that consistently raise the bar and improve service levels.
  • Assisting the Credit Union with executing the business plan of the organization.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: BA in Marketing, Advertising, Business, Communication, or Related Field.
  • Five years’ experience managing digital marketing channels.
  • Five years’ experience managing employees.
