Energy Educator: Job Summary

Growing Energy Efficiency company is seeking an Energy Educator to provide outreach support as well as energy assessments to support a local utility’s energy efficiency program. Outreach support can include door-to-door initiatives as well as attending events to promote the program. Energy assessments include educating customers about their energy use and tips for reducing energy consumption and are conducted both on-site in homes and virtually. In addition, the energy educator will install energy savings products, such as LED bulbs, based on customer needs.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with developing outreach strategies to generate increased program participation including canvassing
  • Attend events as needed to promote and generate interest in the program
  • Work independently to conduct energy assessments online and in-person. This includes speaking with customers, completing paperwork, and using a handheld tablet to input energy saving measures accurately and providing recommendations.
  • Meet established daily performance goals are met through various outreach activities, event participation, and/or onsite visits
  • Advise internal team on outreach results, lead generation ideas, and recommend changes to current procedures to support program growth
  • Ensure that client brand is accurately displayed via a uniform, print collateral, table displays, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Interest in the energy efficiency/clean energy field
  • Related experience and/or training in weatherization and/or energy efficiency principals and techniques preferred
  • Approachable demeanor and exemplary communication skills with comfortable in talking to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to learn and work with new technology (e.g. handheld data devices, Office Suite)
  • Ability to prioritize activities and meet established goals and deadlines
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and handle a variety of activities concurrently
  • Ability to travel locally
  • Problem-solver with ability to respond to a diverse set of challenges in the field and do whatever it takes to meet project deliverables on schedule while providing excellent customer service
  • Customer service experience is a plus
  • Current Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Able to pass pre-employment criminal background and substance abuse screenings
