Summary

The Enrollment Services Advisor position advises and assists new and re-entry students as they enroll in their selected programs of study. Among other things, the Enrollment Services Advisor actively provides solutions to students who may need assistance as they navigate the landscape of higher education. During the enrollment process, the Enrollment Services Advisor creates a caring and supportive environment that puts the student first in accordance with the mission, core values, and purposes of the university.


Minimum Qualifications Criteria

The Enrollment Services Advisor must satisfy the following minimum qualifications:

  • Successful completion of training and certification requirements.
  • Familiar with all department policies and procedures (FA, Admissions, Academics, Reg etc.).
  • Review and know about NAU history, mission statement, purpose, and core values.
  • Must meet the set KPIs each month or higher while in this position.
  • Must have current professional development plan in place.
  • Must apply and interview for position.

Essential Functions

The Enrollment Services Advisor performs the following essential functions:

  • Assists prospective students who have expressed an interest in continuing their education by working with each student to:
    • Identifies each student’s unique educational and professional goals and any challenges that may prevent the student from achieving those goals.
    • Provides complete and accurate information about National American University, including its programs and support services.
    • Assists in formulating an education plan that addresses both goals and challenges (or refer the student to another educational institution when appropriate).
    • Guides the student through the application and enrollment process; and
    • Provides other assistance as appropriate to support students’ decision to continue their education.
  • Achieves and maintains proficient, comprehensive, and accurate understanding of academic programs, university policies, and student support services.
  • Enrolls students who are committed to completing their program of study and regularly communicate with them during the enrollment process.
  • Facilitates communication between students and other university departments, as appropriate.
  • Communicates with the student’s assigned Academic Services Advisor, both verbally and through the contact management system, about issues that may need further attention to assist the student to be successful.
  • Acts with the highest integrity and professionalism in performing duties and responsibilities in compliance with all university policies, procedures, and ethical standards, including those set forth in the Admissions Code of Conduct and the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
  • Complies with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and all other applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintains acceptable student satisfaction levels.
  • Documents all required activities within the university’s enrollment management system and maintain current, accurate records and reports in accordance with university policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Participates in training, practice sessions, and professional development activities.
  • Create a Personal Development Plan designed to outline your future goals and areas of progression at NAU.
  • Assists in creating and implementing strategies to contribute to student success.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Work Hours

Forty hours per week during assigned daytime, evening, and weekend hours. Scheduled work hours may change. Overtime may be required or permitted with prior approval.


Reporting and Supervisory Responsibilities

  • The Enrollment Services Advisor reports to the Enrollment Services Manager. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Requirements

The Enrollment Services Advisor must be able to speak, hear, see, read, write, type, dial, reach, bend and perform the requirements of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation.


Travel

Periodic travel, including airline travel and overnight stays, may be required.
