Job Description

Must have a High School Degree or equivalent. Must have a minimum of one year’s experience in the general maintenance and/or preventative maintenance field, preferably in a health care setting.

  1. Must have a valid State Driver's License and a safe driving record.
  2. Must be able to see at 20/40 corrected in each eye and hear (hearing aid acceptable.)
  3. Must be able to walk for approximately five (5) miles per eight (8) hr. shift.
  4. Must be able to climb ladders up to 24 ft. high.
  5. Must be physically agile (bending, stooping, and climbing.)
  6. Must be able to safely run and control powered equipment i.e., power saws, drills, grinders, push mowers, weed eaters and tractors.
  7. Must be able to lift approximately 100 lbs. unassisted.
  8. Must be able to move furniture weighing up to 200-300 lbs. with the assistance of dollies and one other Environmental Services person.
  9. If recovering, two (2) years of continuous verifiable sobriety

General Responsibilities:

To perform a variety of maintenance activities in order to maintain the Center in an attractive sanitary, and safe condition inside and outside.

Know and abide by the general provisions of 42 CFR Part 2, “Confidentiality of Drug and Alcohol Abuse Patient Records”, and 45 CFR “Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.” This position has no access to patient health information.

Key Duties:

  1. Moves furniture, boxes, equipment, and supplies; may help in other departments moving equipment and supplies.
  2. Water all trees, plants, and grass; collect trash throughout yard; clean parking lot, steps, patios, dumpster areas and other areas at the Center.
  3. Mows and weed eats all grounds.
  4. Clean carpets, paint inside & out.
  5. Do light electrical and plumbing work.
  6. Do minor appliance repair & maintenance.
  7. Regular attendance.
  8. Perform other professional and ethical duties as requested by the Environmental Services Director.
