About This Position:
There is always extensive travel to and from each site the Field Tech visits. Once there they will perform a walk-through of the facility to repair or replace any components on a suite of custom configured network devices in support of multi-year state and county contracts. Field Techs perform installations at the new site. This requires putting together a significant amount of network equipment for the inmate phone system and associated add on components in support of the contract.

*Must be willing to travel 50-75% of the time*

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
  • Provide installation, service and customer support to inmate telephones, Video Visitation Systems, Wireless Access Points, Wireless Tables, Customer Kiosks, and call control systems that are comprised of complex networking components.
  • Install, test, and service software on a variety of digital voice gateways, call processing systems, wireless access devices and inmate telephones.
  • Install, terminate and test LAN/WAN equipment, Category 5 and Fiber Optic cabling.
  • Perform in depth analysis of installation and maintenance configurations to meet customer and company expectations.
  • Perform routine PMI’s.
  • Communicate with customer/dispatch on service information.
  • Perform physical diagnostics/repairs and telephony integration troubleshooting on a variety of complex network components.
  • Perform computer diagnostics and repair.
  • On call 24/7 for site to make remote or physical repairs to phones and/or equipment.
  • Maintain documentation and communicate clearly with corporate dispatch center and local customer contacts.
What You'll Need:
  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must have T-1 and analog circuit repair knowledge.
  • Must have excellent working knowledge of multiple network disciplines and perform advanced network diagnostics to isolate and troubleshoot issues.
  • Must be able to develop good working relationships with facility personnel.
  • Service and maintain inmate phone systems at correctional facilities within an assigned region.
  • Ability to travel throughout assigned territory as needed.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Strong team oriented business skill.
  • Professional attitude in dealing with customers.
