Job Description/Responsibilities

The Financial Coaching and Engagement Specialist (FCES) primary responsibility is to provide holistic one-on-one Financial Coaching to participants, following the Capital Good Fund curriculum. Secondarily, the FCES will represent Capital Good Fund’s Impact and Impact Loan product in Georgia. The FCES will successfully build and manage trusting relationships with individual participants, prepare and deliver workshops on various financial coaching topics and settings, and track and manage client payments. The Coaching curriculum covers goals, debt management, credit building, budgeting, savings, banking, and related areas such as health and wellness. The FCES will also be one of the points of contact for partnership organizations interested in learning more about Capital Good Fund’s consumer loans.

In this role, the FCES will:

  • Provide one-on-one financial and health coaching in-person and remotely to participants, from inquiry to credit checks and relationship maintenance such as check-ins and surveys;
  • Establish and maintain trusting relationships with participants
  • Develop actionable plans and provide resources to support the client in reaching their financial wellness goals
  • Deliver prepared financial knowledge workshops to groups of 5-500 either in-person or remotely, using a variety of tools such as PowerPoint, projectors, and Zoom
  • Assist the Director in developing relationships with community partners;
  • Collaborate with coworkers to maintain and strengthen coaching curriculum and program offerings;
  • Ensure data integrity by taking detailed notes and correctly entering all client data into our customer database and periodically auditing for accuracy, ensuring Development has the data they need to report to funders;
  • Maintain participant confidentiality by following all security and communications standards when working with sensitive data or information.
  • Accommodate working late shifts based on client availability
  • Conduct In-person outreach to establish new partnerships.
  • Make cold calls as part of our outreach strategy.
  • Work with the Director of Business Development to implement outreach strategies for reaching clients
  • Act as Georgia-based liaison for business partners who want to offer or promote Financial Coaching or consumer loans
  • Act as secondary point of contact for GreenLight Fund Atlanta as needed
  • Attend virtual or in-person events as needed to educate and promote prospective clients and partners about Capital Good Fund’s Coaching and Impact/Impact PLUS loans
  • Additional duties assigned as needed.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Must reside in metro Atlanta
  • Possess effective time management and communication skills
  • Experience in Customer Service Management programs and familiarity with data input and processing
  • Must be comfortable public speaking and presenting, both in-person and virtually, to small and large groups
  • Must be comfortable making cold calls as part of outreach strategy
  • Be able to empathize with people of different backgrounds and abilities
  • Must have access to transportation and be willing to travel

Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Ability or experience working in low-income/distressed communities
  • Ability to develop community and business partner relationships
  • Experience in financial services or sales
  • Mission-driven
  • Experience in Google Suite, Zoom, or other virtual conferencing tools
  • Adapt to changes in the work environment and manage competing demands
  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Training and Compensation

The FCES will receive extensive training on all of Capital Good Fund’s products, services, policies, procedures, and technology.

This is a full-time, forty-hour-per-week position.
