Job Description

This is a fully remote position for applicants who reside and are legally authorized to work in the United States.
Salary: $28 - $38 an hour

This job can be described as:
seeking a proactive and meticulous HR and Payroll Coordinator. This full-time role is essential in streamlining daily HR operations and payroll processing, enabling the HR Manager to concentrate on encouraging a positive workplace culture and driving pivotal initiatives.

Responsibilities

HR Responsibilities:
  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Facilitate recruitment efforts, including job postings, interview scheduling, and conducting orientations.
  • Administrative Support: Maintain digital HR files, ensure accurate HRIS entries, and update the employee intranet regularly.
  • Employee Relations: Serve as a primary contact for employee inquiries, providing timely and accurate information.
  • Compliance Management: Coordinate employee background checks, Safesport training, CPR, First Aid, and AED training requirements.
  • Benefits Coordination: Lead employee benefits programs and assist with inquiries to ensure a smooth benefits experience.
  • Training & Development: Coordinate training sessions, track participation, and coordinate professional development opportunities.
  • HR Projects: Contribute to HR initiatives, including developing standard operating procedures and diversity programs.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to labor regulations and internal policies.
  • Process Optimization: Collaborate with the HR Manager to enhance HR processes and improve overall efficiency.
Payroll Responsibilities:
  • Payroll Processing: Review time cards and implement bi-weekly payroll processing with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
  • Benefits Reconciliation: Reconcile monthly benefits statements and handle invoice processing through the accounts payable system.
  • Reporting & Auditing: Prepare payroll reports and assist with audits as required.
  • Employee Support: Act as a resource for employees regarding payroll-related inquiries and issues.
General Duties:
  • Perform other tasks as specified to support the overall HR function.
Minimum Qualifications

Education & Certifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.
Experience:
  • 1-4 years of validated experience in an HR administrative support or payroll role required.
  • Familiarity with Google Suite (Gmail, Sheets, Docs, Slides, Drive) preferred.
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of Paycor is preferred.
Other Requirements:
  • Demonstrable track record to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Must reside in the United States and legally authorized to work in the United States..
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to make repetitive motions, sit, stand, walk, and handle objects; lift up to 25 lbs with or without assistance.

What is the pay, hours, and benefits for this position?

  • Non-exempt position paying $28.00 - $38.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
  • Full-time position requires a minimum of 35 hours per week; additional hours may be required.
