Job Description

Overview:
The Human Resources Compensation Analyst performs a variety of administrative and project related functions in order to support the Compensation team and Human Resource department on compensation initiatives. This person manages the Compensation actions in our HRIS system, calculates compensation, provides reports, ensures compliance, and prepares audits. The ideal candidate will use strong communication skills to relay compensation information and provide guidance to employees, leaders, and HR partners. This analyst manages vendor relationships and analyzes national market data, pay practices, reorganization initiatives, and compensation plans.
Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting.
    Minimum of 4 years of experience in human resources with 1 of the years in compensation and/or recruitment. Experience working in a health care firm preferred. Certified Compensation Professional Certification preferred. Professional Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) certification preferred. Ability to work with confidential information with a high level of professionalism associated with the area of Human Resources. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in person and via telephone with employees and leaders. Experienced presenter or public speaker. Written communication skills as well as business writing and presentation skills are required. Requires strong organizational skills and high level of attention to detail in providing accurate information, associated documentation, data entry and meeting quality standards. Must be experienced with various computer systems including all Microsoft Office tools. Advanced Excel skills required. Must be able to work cooperatively with other employees and function under pressure.
  • Strong analytical decision-making skills.
Responsibilities: Participates in ongoing third-party surveys in a timely fashion and reviews survey results to identify the organizations competitive standing.
    Serves as the subject matter expert in the market data tool to include but not limited to an annual analysis of the national compensation market data for a year over year analysis. Uploads the third-party results into the tool. Participates in the analytical process of updating the pay grade salary structure annually.


  • Participates in the recommendations, planning, costing, and implementation of employee salary increases to include pay for performance and market. Compiles and submits all internal and external data requests including RFPs related to compensation for the organization.


  • Participates in scenario analysis to assess the impact of potential compensation plans. Develops and maintains all Compensation documents for publishing on the online HR Document Library. In collaboration with IS Web Team, designs WebPages, graphics, and relevant links for Compensation resources. Represents the Compensation team at committee, task group, and departmental meetings. Works on related assignments and projects. Interacts with various levels of leadership, professionals and employees. Serves as a departmental resource and educator for HRIS queries, PC Link downloads, Access design and development, Excel spreadsheets and graphs. Serves as liaison with information services staff in resolving programming and related problems.


  • Responsible for monitoring and analyzing the Special Pay System on a monthly basis to include audits ensuring compliance of guidelines. Audits the remote workforce on a monthly basis to ensure compliance with state and federal laws. Responsible for audits and corrections in the HRIS system. Provides customer service to PHS employees and managers and in some instances, non-employees, in specialty area by phone or in person. Escalates problems within specialty team to ensure resolution. Serve as a link between management and employees by responding to questions, interpreting and administering policies and procedures and helping resolve work-related problems. Uses all available resources to respond to incoming requests in an effort to assist customers with a resolution to their problem/concern. Continually supports the Vision, Values, Purpose and Strategies of PHS. Maintains a professional standard in communicating with all customers, internal and external. Relationship builder with a proactive, can-do, agile and sense of urgency approach to meeting the business needs and promoting how HR expertise can contribute to business objectives. Conducts research to understand industry and organization-specific issues, including financial information, compensation and rewards and corporate performance. Assisting with report and proposal writing as it relates to describing and summarizing project objectives, methodologies, analysis and results as well as proofing for accuracy. Assists the HR Compensation Specialist with the day to day tasks to include but not limited to email inquiries, Manager Self-Serve, Recoups, Special Pay processing and personnel actions. Work with the Compensation Consultants on projects including Compensation Service Requests, program design, analysis, budgeting and implementation.
