The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for performing telephone sales functions to educate, qualify, and ultimately sell Government Programs products to beneficiaries.

Products include the Medicare Advantage plans Medicare Supplement plans, Medicare Prescription Drug Plans (PDP), Individual Commercial plans and other products within the scope of this position.

The incumbent will participate in sales and marketing activities designed to meet individual enrollment and retention goals as assigned while ensuring that prospective members are making informed choices about their health care coverage.

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for developing and maintaining a cooperative relationship with all staff to achieve goals and works closely with the Manager of Government Programs Inside Sales to ensure timely and appropriate follow-up to lead inquiries.

The incumbent must abide by the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) guidelines and all Federal, State, and local policies and regulations governing sales and marketing activities.

Responsibilities and Qualifications:
  • Interact with customers by telephone to qualify prospective members and provide education on health coverage options as well as discuss important enrollment periods and Capital products and potential out-of-pocket costs. Employ sales techniques to complete the sale or offer additional ways to learn more.
  • Meet established production quotas in terms of enrollment, retention and close rate to assigned goal. Complete member retention activities and other activities as directed.
  • Maintain current licensure and certifications as required by CMS, applicable the state law, and Capital to sell Capital products and services.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated PC software skills, preferably Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to complete data entry requirements for lead management in corporate CRM tool.
  • Ability to establish rapport and engage in consultative selling.

Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Medicare and the Commercial Individual market to include election periods, benefit coverage designs, eligibility, and prescription drug plans.
  • A sound understanding of Medicare and Individual product offerings to include the inter-workings of the financial, benefit delivery, provider and servicing capabilities, provider and pharmacy networks, and formularies.

Experience:

  • 1-3 years' experience required in healthcare related business, with a minimum of 1 year experience with managed care plan offerings.

Education and Certifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must acquire (within 60 days of hire date) and maintain all state(s) licensure, certification, and appointment qualification to sell products through Capital’s service areas.

Work Environment:

  • Working environment includes typical office conditions. Incumbent would also be responsible for carrying materials for sales activities, seminars, and one on one appointments.

Physical Demands:

  • Sedentary work involving significant periods of sitting, talking, hearing, keying and performing repetitive motions.
  • Work requires visual acuity to perform close inspection of written and computer-generated documents as well as a PC monitor.
