Missouri Online, a part of University of Missouri System (UM System), is seeking an Instructional Designer III who is eager to assist faculty, staff, and administrators in ensuring quality course design, faculty professional development, development of new online programs and continuous improvement of existing online programs, and opportunities related to online and blended learning. This is accomplished through the use of a consultative model, partnerships, collaborations, and mentorships. While the Instructional Designer III will not independently develop the online courses or programs, they will provide consultation and design based on accepted pedagogies, online design standards, and industry best practices.
This position will also be expected to reflect, support, and encourage the design service vision and Missouri Online values. The design service vision is to be the experts at providing program and course support to each university in the system in order to provide a quality online education experience for all learners. The Instructional Designer III will also be required to attend the annual on-site Missouri Online All Staff Retreat and other on-site events as business needs dictate.Travel for this position is expected to be minimal.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualities:
Responsibilities:
Monday - Friday 8AM-5PM. CST
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Masters degree or 3+ years in a relevant field
Strong knowledge of various learning theories, instructional design models, and learning experience design frameworks
Strong knowledge of current accessibility standards and best practices
Versed in project management
Exceptional organization skills
Excellent communication skills: written, verbal, listening
Exhibit a collaborative and inclusive approach to running and participating in projects
Demonstrated comfort in speaking with campus and academic unit leaders across universities
Desire and ability to present at local, regional, state, and national events as opportunities allow
Salary Range: $60,000 - $68,815 per year
