Job Description

Vaco is actively seeking an IT Asset Manager for a 6+ month consulting opportunity with our client in Memphis. 

Additional Details:
 
  • Employment Type: 6 Month Contract (with options to extend)
  • Schedule: Remote Hybrid
  • Start Date: Immediate
  • Target Compensation: $80 to $85 per hour
  • Employment Status: Corp-to-Corp or employment sponsorship is not being considered for this position

Product Owner Summary

The Asset Manager will be responsible for overseeing the lifecycle of all technical assets within the organization. This includes procurement, tracking, maintenance, and disposal of assets to ensure optimal utilization, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

The Asset Manager will work closely with various departments, including IT, procurement, finance, and compliance to develop and implement asset management strategies that align with business objectives.

Responsibilities:
 
  • Develop and maintain an inventory of all IT assets, including hardware, software, licenses, and related documentation.
  • Establish and enforce asset management policies, procedures, and standards to ensure consistency and compliance across the organization.
  • Coordinate the procurement of IT assets including negotiating contracts, managing vendor relationships, and evaluating cost-effectiveness.
  • Implement asset tracking systems and tools to monitor asset lifecycles, usage, and performance metrics.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to verify the accuracy and completeness of asset records and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to optimize asset utilization, minimize downtime, and mitigate risks associated with asset failure or obsolescence.
  • Manage the disposal and decommissioning of obsolete or surplus assets in accordance with legal and environmental regulations.
  • Provide training and support to end-users and stakeholders on asset management processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to asset management and ITAM.

Requirements:
 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in asset management, with a focus on IT assets and/or ITAM.
  • Proficiency in asset management principles, practices, and methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, hardware, software, and licensing concepts.
  • Experience with asset management tools and software (e.g., ServiceNow, SCCM, Flexera, etc).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal abilities with the capacity to collaborate across departments and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Certifications such as Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM) or Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) are a plus.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and standards (e.g., ITIL, ISO 55000) related to asset management is a bonus.

  • the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
  • office location and other geographic considerations;
  • other business and organizational needs.

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
