Your Role:

As an IT Manager, you are responsible for leading and providing direction to Product Owners and Technical Analysts responsible for a suite of insurance software solutions and their participation in large-scale, cross-functional initiatives. This includes mentoring and developing these individuals to improve their knowledge, skills and career opportunities. In addition, you will be developing and evolving innovative programs to drive improvements in overall value and efficiency across our organization.

Your work: (Essential responsibilities)

  • Establish trusting relationship with individuals in pursuit of:
  • Being a champion and cheerleader to career goals and success
  • Collecting and providing feedback from various sources for continuous improvement
  • Being an advocate for employee’s decisions/actions taken (“we’ve got your back”)
  • Coaching to “how” skills for the role (“...how do I...?”)
  • Facilitating and organizing “how” skills development programs
  • Being an encouraging sounding board for feedback, scenarios, ideas
  • Providing a conduit for cross organization process identification and development

  • Broadening knowledge of the ecosystem you support to ensure relatability.
  • Identify the Product Owner and Analyst role needs to build the best product development Scrum teams. Inclusive of business acumen, technical knowledge, social and interpersonal skills.
  • Work closely with Product Management leaders and other Chapter (role based) leaders to identify resource, skill and process needs across the broader organization.
  • Partner with Chapter (role based) leaders on creating, aligning and/or improving coaching/development techniques and programs.
  • Actively seek opportunities to introduce and operationalize new tools and processes, or optimize existing ones, to improve the organization.
  • Fulfill performance management responsibilities to individuals reporting to you.

What would make us excited about you?

  • 5+ years of previous product management/ownership experience, including technical product development and analysis is desired.
  • 3+ years of experience in Agile/Scrum practices. Also experience in Scaled Agile practices is a plus
  • Experience leading large cross-functional stakeholder groups in complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience or BSA Certification
  • 2+ years of previous people management or team leadership experience preferred, with proven ability to coach and develop high-performing individuals/teams through perfecting and evolving their role.

The national average salary range for this position is $152,010-$168,900.However, we have a location-based compensation structure. Our salary ranges vary and are calculated based on county of residence. The full [salary range] for this position across all the states we hire in is $136-710-$202,500. This role also includes an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 15% of eligible pay.
