Position Description :
Impact Sero's future and employee as a Benefit Analyst in our Herndon, VA office (hybrid telecommuting considered). You will provide entry-level support in administering employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave management. You will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with government regulations (such as SCA compliance), processing employee inquiries, and maintaining accurate records. The role requires attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to handle a wide range of tasks related to benefits administration. - Employee Inquiries: Respond to employee questions and concerns regarding benefit plans (e.g., health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans) through phone, email, and ticketing systems. Provide guidance and support to employees in understanding available benefits.
- Health and Welfare Benefits: Assist in the administration of health and welfare programs for SCA (Service Contract Act) and non-SCA employees, including processing new enrollments, qualifying life events, and changes in coverage.
- SCA Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with the Service Contract Act (SCA), including assisting with SCA employee benefit statements, and reconciling employee benefits with SCA wage determinations.
- Leave Management: Support leave-of-absence processes, including FMLA, ADA, and Military Leave. Assist employees in submitting requests and ensure accurate tracking and documentation of leave.
- Benefit Billing and Reconciliation: Assist with benefits billing, ensuring accuracy in employee deductions for health, dental, and vision insurance. Reconcile discrepancies and ensure timely payment to vendors.
- Court Orders: Process and review court orders such as Qualified Medical Child Support Orders (QMCSO) and wage garnishments, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Tuition Reimbursement: Process employee tuition reimbursement requests, ensuring documentation is complete and employees meet eligibility criteria.
- Dependent Verification Audits: Conduct audits to verify the eligibility of employee dependents for benefit programs, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Benefit Communication: Assist in preparing and distributing communications to employees regarding benefit offerings, upcoming deadlines, and policy changes, particularly around open enrollment and benefits education initiatives.
- Census Data: Assist in maintaining accurate census file feeds for health plans, ensuring data integrity in contributions, deductions, and employee changes.
- Work Environment: Hybrid or in-office work arrangment. Remote could be a consideration.
- Schedule: Full-time, standard business hours with occasional extended hours during peak periods, such as open enrollment.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- High School diloma or equivement, degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Experience:
- 0-2 years of experience in benefits administration, preferably within a government contracting environment.
- Knowledge of SCA (Service Contract Act) regulations is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong customer service orientation and the ability to handle employee inquiries professionally and confidentially.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simutaniously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel (pivot tables), Word, Outlook).
- Experience with HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems) and benefit administration platforms preferred.
- Certifications:
