About being a Land Acquisition Specialist at our Premier Client

Job Highlights

The Land Acquisition Specialist will assist the Vice President of Development in sourcing new multi-family development opportunities and completing rezonings and entitlement requirements.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Primary tasks will include all aspects of site selection for new developments. This will include utilizing a variety of sources to uncover potential development sites in the company’s primary markets in Florida, being Orlando, Tampa, Sarasota and Collier County. It is expected that the successful candidate will establish a stable of contacts in each market that he or she will utilize to assist the Company in creating a steady stream of development opportunities. In addition, Associate will perform preliminary site evaluation studies relating to zoning, utilities, supply and demand, topography, environmental conditions, etc. to determine site feasibility. The applicant will also assist in financial analysis, market analysis, due diligence, entitlements, design management, zoning and land use analysis, permitting, communication with brokers, investors, lenders, community members, city officials, zoning attorneys and third-party consultants, and any other task that is deemed necessary for the success of the company. Other responsibilities to include the following:

  • Assist Development team in all facets of the development process.
  • Completion of rent comparable summaries.
  • Assist in sourcing strategies, including significant off-market research and outreach
  • Understand land use concepts and be able to identify allowable uses, site zoning yields, and highest and best use for potential projects.
  • Assist with the due diligence process for new projects.
  • Assist with consultant management.
  • Permitting execution.
  • Assist with project scheduling.
  • Assist with community outreach.
  • Effectively communicate with all external stakeholders including brokers, property owners, consultants, and community members on all future and current projects.
  • Gather property-specific & market information by researching a variety of sources including industry, regulatory and economic information, demographic data, and property information.
  • Identify investment risks and provide mitigation strategies.
  • Any other task that is deemed necessary for the success of the company.

  • Advanced computer skills, including MS Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel and Bluebeam.
  • Ability to operate independently and effectively report in written and verbal formats.
  • Strong financial analysis skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to forecast risks and how to mitigate against them.
  • Energetic, organized, creative and highly motivated person with the ability to learn and work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to support multiple projects concurrently and prioritize competing demands under the pressure of time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strength of character and flexible style to work in various capacities.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 4-year degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Urban Planning, Engineering, Construction or related field.
  • Demonstrated site selection experience.

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
