WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER


The Gift Planning Fundraising team is seeking an energetic and engaged professional based in Colorado or Arizona, with Denver, Boulder, Phoenix or Tucson metro areas preferred to serve as Loyal Donor Officer. This position will support a multi-state geography and works closely with fundraising staff to secure deferred gift commitments, steward our most loyal supporters, uncover major gift potential. Our ideal candidate will work well in a fast-paced environment, have experience working with clients or donors, and has exceptional attention to detail. The Loyal Donor Officer will apply knowledge of our local, regional, and global conservation projects to their donor-centric approach to cultivation and solicitation of loyal donors. To be successful and happy in this position, candidates should have a strong interest in working with donors, an interest in learning about our organization’s conservation priorities and planned giving, and be available for occasional overnight travel. Many long-time donors make a gift in their will or trust to their favorite charities to ensure that the work they believe in will continue beyond their lifetime. The Conservancy considers these donors an important part of our “family” and invests the funds from these gifts in critical work to conserve lands and waters around the world for future generations. Join our initiative to build a meaningful stewardship and cultivation program for our loyal donors and help raise even more of these gifts critical to our conservation mission. This opportunity is ideal for someone who is highly motivated, loves interacting with diverse constituencies and supporters, and is interested in joining the world’s leading conservation organization.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years related experience or an equivalent combination.
  • Experience building relationships with donors, volunteers, clients, foundations, vendors, and/or staff.
  • Experience in managing and tracking multiple prospects, donors, and/or clients.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience, coursework, or other training in fundraising principles and practices.


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.
  • Ability to determine an individual’s interests, capacity, and potential for helping the Conservancy meet its goals, and act appropriately to tie those interests with the Conservancy’s work.
  • Ability to educate and inform prospective and existing donors about appropriate giving vehicles.
  • Ability to implement and manage fundraising plans, including individualized cultivation, solicitation, and recognition plans.
  • Demonstrated experience using listening, diplomacy, and tact to build strong relationships and motivate donors and volunteers.
  • Strong negotiating and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of the basics of charitable gift planning.

SALARY INFORMATION


The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $73,400 - $108,100 for annual base salary. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
