What you’ll do:

The Network Security Manager is responsible for leading a network security team that manages the organization’s firewalls and related network security products. In this role, you will actively seek opportunities to leverage technology to improve the organization’s security posture. Your team will lead product evaluations, and develop project proposals to request funding for related projects. These responsibilities come with a significant daily operational workload of firewall change requests. You will review proposed changes and assess security risks alongside business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, document, and implement standard configurations for critical network security hardware and software, including firewalls, remote access solutions, VPNs, and SASE solutions.
  • Lead the network security planning and design for the department, utilizing tools such as virtual whiteboarding to facilitate walkthroughs of network diagrams.
  • Collaborate with CyberSecurity and IT teams to develop and implement network security standards and access controls that align with company CyberSecurity policies.
  • Conduct periodic network security reviews to ensure compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Implement lifecycle management processes to ensure network security hardware and software are maintained and updated regularly.
  • Continuously improve the processes for evaluating and implementing network security changes to enhance security measures.
  • Establish processes for the rapid deployment of security patches and mitigating controls in response to new security vulnerabilities as highlighted in security bulletins.
  • Collaborate with CyberSecurity and other departments in responding to security incidents, ensuring an efficient and coordinated approach.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to network security team members, facilitate effective team interactions, and foster relationships with business stakeholders to increase customer satisfaction and manage expectations.
  • Instruct team members on departmental procedures, policies, and standards specific to the Network Security team.
  • Continually update and enhance personal and team knowledge of network security practices and company standards to drive departmental success and professional growth.

TRAVEL: Occasional overnight travel (up to 15%) by land and/or air.


What you’ll need:

EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in a related business or technical field, or equivalent experience in combination with relevant technical network security certifications.


LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
: One or more of the following certifications is preferred, with preference given
toward technical certifications: PCNSE, PCCSE, CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, and/or other network security related industry certifications.


EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 8 years experience as a Network Security Manager, Network Security Engineer, Network Engineer, or some combination of those roles that demonstrate the ability to lead a network security team in a large enterprise network environment.

  • Experience in implementing and supporting network security solutions from leading vendors like Palo Alto, Fortinet, Checkpoint, and Cisco.
  • Skilled in managing distributed network platforms using centralized management tools such as Panorama, Fortimanager, Checkpoint CMA, and FireMon.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office / 365 and Visio; capable of creating and maintaining documents, diagrams, spreadsheets, and presentations to support business objectives.
  • Preferable experience in supporting cloud infrastructures like GCP and Azure.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial for liaising between technical and non-technical teams, interpreting business requirements, and delivering corresponding technical solutions.
  • Able to communicate complex technical information effectively to a wide range of audiences from technical architects and engineers to business sponsors and leadership.
  • Experienced in overseeing multiple projects simultaneously, including managing budgets, delegating tasks, providing project oversight, and allocating resources.
