Position Summary:
Ogletree Deakins' expanding Client Services department has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Marketing Counsel. The position will be responsible for monitoring key labor and employment law developments and developing content relating to same for firm products and publications. The Marketing Counsel will assist the Senior Marketing Counsel and report to the Director of Content. This position may be remote, but the successful candidate must reside in a state where the firm has a physical office
Essential Functions:
  • Writes articles for publication on the firm’s website, both individually and with firm attorneys.
  • Authors/co-authors articles for other publications as assigned.
  • Tracks developments and trends that will impact the firm’s practice areas and business, and proactively develops and helps the Client Services department and firm attorneys develop relevant content for publications, articles, and other content.
  • Develops strategy for the firm’s blog and other content, in consultation with Client Services Department leadership and staff, firm and practice and industry group leaders, and other attorneys.
  • Works with firm practice and industry groups, as assigned by the firm and as needed, to help with internal and external marketing.
  • Works at internal and client-facing events as needed to support our attorneys and clients.
Requirements:
  • Law degree from an accredited institution, with a background in marketing, journalism, literature, or communications a plus.
  • Outstanding writing/editing ability and communication skills. Knowledge of style manuals.
  • Significant prior relevant editorial or authorship experience.
  • Excellent client/customer service skills.
  • Outstanding strategic planning and organizational skills.
  • At least three years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of labor and employment law a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of and ability to work with artificial intelligence tools.
  • Self-motivated and highly organized. Ability to anticipate work needs, multitask, and follow through with minimum direction while adapting to changing priorities and work demands.
  • Ability to work under multiple deadlines.
  • Experience with SmartSheet a plus.

Benefits:
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected salary range for this Colorado position is between $99,400 and $165,600. In accordance with New York City’s Wage Transparency Law, the expected salary range for this New York City position is between $99,400 and $165,600. In accordance with California’s amended labor code as stated in Senate Bill 1162, the expected salary range for this California position is between $99,400 and $165,600. In accordance with the Washington Equal Pay and Opportunities act, the expected salary range for this Washington position is between $99,400 and $165,600.. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. This position qualifies for the benefits below.
