Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team. As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for accurately coding and billing medical procedures, ensuring timely reimbursement from insurance companies, and maintaining patient records. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing procedures. Responsibilities: - Review and verify accuracy of patient demographic and insurance information - Assign appropriate medical codes (ICD-10, ICD-9, DRG) to diagnoses and procedures - Submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail - Follow up on unpaid claims and denials, and resubmit claims as necessary - Process payments received from insurance companies or patients - Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records - Communicate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve billing issues - Stay updated on changes in medical coding and billing regulations Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred - Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing or related role - Proficient in medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-10, ICD-9), and billing procedures - Strong knowledge of medical collection practices and insurance guidelines - Excellent attention to detail and accuracy - Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal - Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical billing software Note: This is a paid position.
