Job Title: MRP Planner
FLSA Status: Exempt
Department: Business Operations
Division: Business Operations and Marketing Support Division
Location: White Plains, NY or SOHO (Eastern or Central time zones)
Reports To: Director, Business Operations


General Position Summary


General Summary:


This position is responsible for planning and procurement of raw materials to support production
plan for Toll Blenders, as well as performing backup functionalities to Master Production
planning and new production posting.


Essential Job Functions


Implements the MTP and Budget:
  • by supporting the implementation of the MTP and Budget for production planning and
procurement of raw materials and achieving the objectives of the plan, holding accountability
for the results, and explaining discrepancies to Business Directors and staff.


Prepares a Material Requirement Plan (MRP):
  • by supporting Production Planing for finished goods based upon the sales forecast;
  • by optimizing inventory investment in raw materials.
  • by creating an MRP raw material plan for (using MRP tools) to support the Master
Production Plan (MPS);
  • by developing contingency plans in response to unforeseen Plant disruptions and raw
inventory shortages;
  • by monitoring raw material pricing based on contract and pre-agreed price structure.


Carry out Raw Material Planning and Daily Operations:
  • by placing Raw Material purchase orders and confirming receipt of purchase orders and posting
consumption figures into ERP systemeach month;
  • by organizing and arranging storage for raw materials inventory;
  • by ordering raw materials with selected vendors to meet production needs;
  • by calculating the remaining raw materials at the end of each month;
  • by preparing and submitting monthly and quarterly raw materials inventory reports to the
Accounting Department;
  • by maintaining and updating digital purchase order forms, inventory report spreadsheets, raw
material pricing spreadsheets, delivery spreadsheets, and production planning spreadsheet and by
preparing reports, memos and/or correspondence;
  • by communicating with supervisor and Business Directors as necessary to ensure the inventory
stays within the target range every month and adjust production plan accordingly;
  • by tracking slow-moving and obsolete inventory and work with supervisor and Business
Director for disposition;
  • And by meeting inventory objectives and customer forecasted sales requirements.


Perform backup functionalities to Master Production planning and new production posting:
  • by posting new production into ERP system and verifying reasonable raw consumption.
  • by discussing with supervisor to Master Production planning
  • by conducting physical inventory check at plant.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate ( i.e., working in a business office
with computers, printers, and telephones)
  • The Staff Member must be able to travel on business or work beyond normal business hours if necessary.


Minimum Qualifications Needed


Language Skills


  • Ability to read, analyze , and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and/or government regulations in English.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals in English.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of Managers,
Staff, clients, customers, and the general public in English.

  • Must be able to use a computer and such applications as Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel.


Experience and Education


Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university; or two or more years related planning
experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Planning and Inventory professional certification is desirable.
