Job Description

Do you have a love for math and enjoy helping students succeed? Join our team as an Online Math Tutor and provide mathematical help to students via web-based text chats.


Your work will include:

  • Providing mathematical tutorial help (via online text-based chat) for middle school math through Algebra II and Geometry.
  • Assisting other tutors as needed.
  • Monitoring chats for inappropriate behavior, implement appropriate redirection, and report incidents to supervisor.
  • Tutoring students using student-driven, differentiated approaches, and using grade-appropriate, mathematically correct language.
  • Communicating with co-workers, management, students, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Conforming with and abiding by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
  • Completing mandatory quarterly trainings.

Tutors will be able to work from home. Shifts are available from 4:00 pm EST – 12:00 midnight EST, Sunday through Thursday. Ideal candidates would work between 10 hours and 20 hours per week. Available shifts start at 4:00 pm EST and 5:00 pm EST.

A Qualified Candidate:

  • Has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics or mathematics education, or comparable degree.
  • Has experience teaching math at middle or high school, high school preferred.
  • Demonstrates math proficiency up to and including Algebra II and Geometry.
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background screening.
  • Has access to a computer and high-speed internet.
  • Demonstrates strong written communication skills.
