Job Description

Overview:
Responsible for conducting workforce development for craft level employees. Requires the individual to understand Wanzek’s areas of business and the tasks required by craft level employees in the field. Communicating closely with project management, field operations management and Quality Department to integrate quality, safety, production and training issues. Individual will be in charge of delivery and coordination of training.
Responsibilities:
  • Answer inquiries and troubleshoot problems for internal customers
  • Coordinate with Operations Trainer II to order, track and ship supplies where needed
  • Prepare materials for meetings, training courses and presentations
  • Administer training curriculum for essential job functions performed by craft employees that are new to Wanzek or new to a position. Integrate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) into this curriculum
  • Coordinate all trainings with project management and adjust schedules to meet the needs of the project
  • Create and maintain training master schedules, course catalogs, records coding and structure
  • Provide support for all Workforce Development documentation needs – create, enter and maintain quality and training documentation, forms and processes
  • Coordinate with Operations Trainer II to schedule meeting rooms, arrange hotel accommodations, travel, and food, catering specific to trainings being coordinated under the curriculum being developed and managed by this person
  • Set up training rooms and facilities, distribute training materials, and assist external trainers during training sessions and classes under the curriculum being developed and managed by this person
  • Update LMS Administrator with all training documentation for new and existing employees
  • Other job duties as assigned
Qualifications:

Education and Work Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent with minimum five (5) years’ experience relevant to the position or Associate's degree (A.A.), Bachelor’s degree with minimum three (3) years of experience
  • Experience should include both industrial construction or maintenance (Wind Energy Experience Preferred) as well as training/educational
  • Valid Driver’s License Required, CDL preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Wanzek’s Zero Injury principles
  • Functional computer skills and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Type and write reports with accuracy and appropriate grammar
  • Excellent organizational skills and able to multi-task
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from employees
  • Familiarity with quality, continuous improvement and a training background is helpful
  • Proven work experience as a responsible manager for training of people
  • Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
  • Ability to obtain First Aid CPR Trainer Certificate
  • Ability to obtain NFPA 70e Low and High Voltage Trainer Certificate
  • Ability to obtain NCCCO Rigger and Signal Person Certificate
  • Ability to obtain WE 1002 Certificate Safe Access and Rescue
  • Ability to travel as required (extensive travel)
  • Must have a “safety first” attitude with an understanding of doing the job right the first time
Working Environment:
  • When visiting jobsites the work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions
  • This work environment may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises
