Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Coding Specialist to join our team. As a Coding Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately assigning medical codes to diagnoses and procedures for billing and reimbursement purposes. Your expertise in medical coding and knowledge of industry standards will ensure the accuracy and compliance of our medical records.

Duties:
- Review medical documentation to assign appropriate codes using ICD-9, ICD-10, and other coding systems
- Ensure accurate coding of diagnoses, procedures, and services
- Verify completeness and accuracy of medical records
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and resolve coding discrepancies
- Stay up-to-date with changes in coding guidelines and regulations
- Conduct audits to identify coding errors or areas for improvement
- Assist with medical billing and collection processes as needed
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information

Skills:
- Proficiency in medical terminology, including knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes
- Strong understanding of coding systems such as ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS
- Familiarity with DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding
- Experience working with medical office systems and electronic health records (EHR)
- Knowledge of medical billing processes and insurance reimbursement guidelines
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare providers
