Responsibilities:
The Payor Relations Coordinator will play a key role in developing and managing various managed care contract initiatives. The Payer Relations Coordinator will assist in the management of various managed care/quality-based contracts for Fast Pace Health, as well as providing key insight into certain strategic processes.

  • Serves as a communication liaison between billing, clinical, and operations/payor relations teams to ensure clear understanding and implementation of payor contracts.
  • Gather payor data from outside data sources to ensure Fast Pace has all appropriate contracts to drive clinic volume.
  • Analyze paid claims against payor fee schedules.
  • Monitor and obtain payor fee schedule updates.
  • Create a dashboard to ensure Fast Pace is getting paid the correct allowable amounts by payor, state, and contract.
  • Understand RHC process and handle clinic locations transitioning to RHC.
  • Follow up with payors for amendments and fully executed contracts.
  • Review different payor websites, newsletters, and Availity for change in reimbursement and medical policy.
  • Obtain new contracts or amendments with payors for new RHC or DeNovo clinics.
  • Training resource to clinical/PCS, credentialling, RCM and operational teams.
  • Support efforts to implement various governmental reform initiatives related to Clinical Integration and other health reform initiatives by providing policy research and analysis.
  • Provide support in creating both internal and external educational documentation on a variety of programs and other strategic initiatives.
  • Assist with other duties assigned.
  • Responsible for learning the aspects of compliance in the company by completing all mandatory compliance training.

Experience Requirements and Preferences::

Education:

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent
Experience:
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience with healthcare finance and/or contract management with payors preferred.
  • Clinical experience will be applied to this requirement as well.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of key issues related to Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks at once, respond to tight timelines, pay attention to detail, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have excellent relationship management skills.
  • Works with diverse personalities and effectively interacts with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Understands and effectively communicates to broad and different audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and to prioritize work assignments.
  • Demonstrates excellent writing and grammar skills.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Word.
