Triages incoming emergency calls from the state of Wisconsin public and health care providers. Provides caller with assessment, evaluation, disposition, and education and prevention information regarding human toxic exposures using medically approved guidelines in computer software systems.

Responsibilities and Requirements

  • RN or pharmacist with previous clinical or Poison Center experience.

  • Current state of Wisconsin RN licensure, pharmacy licensure or must obtain licensure with 14 days of hire.

  • Prefer three years of clinical experience in acute, ambulatory care or a pediatric setting or previous experience in an AAPCC certified Poison Center.

  • Successful completion of exam for Certified Specialist in Poison Information (CSPI) after meeting the requirements put forth by the American Association of Poison Control Centers. Incumbent must successfully complete exam within 3 attempts.

We will only consider applicants that reside within 30 minutes from our Milwaukee Main Campus. Once fully trained, this position can be remote, but ONLY within the Milwaukee area.

Orientation will be on day shift for this position and it is 12-15 weeks long.

Current schedule for this role is below but it is subject to some change.

Week 1: 0830 – 1700 T, TH, and 1300 -2130 Saturday

Week 2: 0830 – 1700 M, Th, F, and 1300-2130 Sunday

This role will always be remote unless the equipment is down. If equipment is down you would need to come to the Corporate Center located at our Main Campus in Milwaukee.

External applicants are eligible for a $2500. sign-on bonus once the 90 day training period has been successfully completed . (This bonus does not apply to internal Children's candidates.)
