Job Description

Summary

A Lower Middle-Market Private Equity firm focused on Family/Founder owned businesses in B2B services, technology, and select niche industrial companies in the US and Canada is looking for a remote-based Investment Associate with a minimum of 2 years of experience in private equity and/or investment banking to join their team. The Investment Associate will work across a variety of various transactions involved in all stages from due diligence to financial modeling, developing marketing materials, investor outreach, client relations and closing. Although this is a remote position, since it is a client-facing role, 30-40% travel is required so candidates must reside near a major airport.

Main Job Responsibilities:

  • Build and present complex financial analysis and modeling (valuation analysis/modeling, projections, LBO, DCF, public comparables, historical M&A transactions, etc.)
  • Gathering, reviewing and analyzing due diligence materials and processes
  • Drafting of client presentations, preparing comprehensive pitchbooks, information memoranda, management presentations and marketing materials
  • Conducting financial and other business related research
  • Coordinating complex and often time-sensitive processes
  • Active involvement in client facing situations
  • Assistance in the execution of transactions

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 2 years of current/recent Private Equity and/or Investment Banking experience. Lower-middle or Middle-market experience is highly preferred!
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or other closely related field. MBA/Master’s degree preferred.
  • Strong experience building complex financial models in Excel and preparing business valuations
  • Experience creating pitchbooks, proposals and client presentations
  • Extensive experience in research, data analysis and performing in-depth due diligence
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office suite, including PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook required
  • MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR 30-40% TRAVEL (for client meetings, board meetings, etc.)
