Who are we?

Washington Filmworks is a fully remote not-for-profit 501(c)(6) organization that manages the Motion Picture Competitiveness Program as well as a diversity of resources for the creative industries in Washington State. The mission of Washington Filmworks is to create economic development opportunities by building and enhancing the competitiveness, profile and sustainability of Washington State’s film industry.

So what’s this job in a nutshell?

We are seeking a full-time Program Coordinator who will oversee the day-to-day coordination and operations of the Above the Line Education (ATL) Forum + Mentorship Program, within FWD, our Workforce Development Office. The program is designed to serve emerging filmmakers in Washington State who identify as members of historically underrepresented communities. This position will be responsible for recruitment, program administration, tracking and managing outcomes, and community engagement. This position will also engage with other FWD initiatives as needed.

We’re looking for that wonderful balance of skillset and vibe, a creative self-starter experienced in program coordination. You’ll need to be just as comfortable out in the community connecting with industry experts as you are hunkered down in front of your computer mapping program schedules. We’re looking for someone who will be excited by evolving programs and initiatives and an exceptional candidate will have a commitment to equity, increasing access and inclusivity.

Non-negotiable detail: ALL APPLICANTS MUST BE WASHINGTON STATE RESIDENTS

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Organize and maintain program and participant documentation
  • Track data and outcomes, including generating reports in multiple formats
  • Facilitate program sessions online or in-person, including class sessions, panel discussions, partner meetings, and group discussion
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and steady communication with program participants, instructors, community partners, and staff across multiple platforms
  • Establish and maintain post-program tracking and engagement, including supporting employment navigation as needed
  • Build feedback tools to collect and incorporate participant and community feedback
  • Collaborate with communications department on marketing and outreach efforts
  • In collaboration with staff, recruit, and build positive relationships with participants and industry partners
  • Contribute to ongoing program and curriculum development, and the implementation of best-found practices
  • Participate in community engagement, including staffing kick-off events, roundtable discussions, industry events, and general outreach
  • Actively participate in team meetings, events

This position does not have any direct reports. Reports to the Director of Workforce Development

Qualifications:

  • Experience in workforce development programming, education, training, curriculum development, program management, and/or community engagement
  • Demonstrated project and program management skills
  • Tech-proficient and adaptable to new tools (some of the tools we use: Google Suite, DropBox, Airtable, Asana, JotForm, Powerpoint, MS Office)
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to manage competing priorities independently and dependably, while remaining responsive and communicative
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a history of building trust and rapport with people from diverse and intersecting cultural identities
  • Coachability, and a desire to engage in candid two-way feedback
  • Drive to meet both relational and operational goals
  • Film and television experience is helpful, but NOT required

Compensation:

  • $55K-$69K (Full-time, Non-exempt hourly position, $26.44 - $33.17 / hour)
