Description of Job

Are you a skilled Program Specialist who loves focusing on Customer Success? This Program Specialist (Customer Success) will liaise with customer and technical teams and become a subject matter expert of OIT’s products and services with the goal of supporting the IT Director team and ultimately generating customer satisfaction among state agencies. The Program Specialist will be passionate about solving customer needs and able to effectively communicate OIT’s value story. This person will be a servant leader, a strong communicator, analytical, and skilled at creating and maintaining collaborative relationships across OIT’s matrixed organization.

Some of your important daily responsibilities will include:
  • Create and cultivate collaborative customer relationships with internal OIT teams with the intent to understand the business of OIT, serve as a liaison between internal teams and the Customer Office in an effort to better serve agency customers; and be familiar with OIT’s services in order to help communicate OIT’s value story.
  • Become a subject matter expert of OIT’s billing model, service codes, and product offerings. This position may provide customer billing consulting services to other internal and external stakeholders and executives.
  • Identify gaps in process and communication to improve collaboration across the OIT disciplines in order to improve service to customers.
  • Support the OIT IT Director team by providing proactive, across-agency support, support of OIT and agency WIGs, IT Transformation and backup and a bench for potential future IT leadership that would increase continuity of OIT service and presence across-agencies.
  • Triage, manage and track first tier tactical operational support for agencies as directed.
  • Support Customer Office initiatives as directed by the OIT IT Directors, Senior IT Directors, and the Chief Customer Officer.

A wide salary range is posted for this position and any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The salary analysis considers relevant experience, education, certifications, and state seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. While most salary offers are made within the posted range, occasionally an offer is made below or above the posted range based upon this salary analysis.

education (if substituting for the proven experience, knowledge, and skills), are as follows:

Minimum Qualifications:


Work Experience

Three (3) years experience in any combination of:

  • Experience in advocating for customers.
  • Experience with business relationship management
  • Experience in communications, budgeting, marketing, or customer success.

Substitutions:


Additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis, but cannot completely substitute for these qualifications.

Training or Certification related to the work assigned to the position will be assigned credit towards substitution for experience and/or education, but cannot completely substitute for these qualifications.

If the minimum qualifications include a degree requirement, additional appropriate paid or unpaid experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication, organization, presentation, facilitation, and collaboration skills
  • Experience in Information Technology
  • Public sector work experience
  • Five years of progressive customer engagement experience, including experience leading teams across all functions of technology
  • Experience translating organization mission and strategy
  • Operating in a matrixed environment
  • Proficient in dashboard creation and process mapping
  • Change management Certification
  • Experience with business relationship management
  • Strong understanding for IT process and governance
  • Technical or business strategic roadmapping, planning, and delivery

Conditions of Employment:


OIT candidates and employees must comply with any screening procedures in place at state entity locations where they might be required to perform work.

A pre-employment background check will be conducted as part of the selection process.

Positions supporting some agencies such as the Department of Corrections and the Department of Public Safety will also require a pre-employment drug test.

This position may require travel within the specified geographic area, and to locations across the state as needed.

This position may require on-call duties as needed by the position.


Supplemental Information

If this posting indicates “remote from anywhere in CO” in the title, periodic reporting to the primary state work location designated for the position is required. All remote work must be performed in Colorado.

While candidates from out of state will be considered for this role, the candidate selected for the position must relocate and reside in Colorado on the first day of their new position. There is no form of relocation assistance, financial or otherwise, available for any position. A reasonable timeframe for relocation will be established on an individual basis, while considering business needs, and determining a start date.
