This role provides leadership for Planned Giving Operations, including accountability for the Annual Planned Giving Revenue. The role collaborates with Finance and Legal to match legacy revenue – one of the leading sources of income at ACS – to the donor record in Salesforce – along with matching against previously generated managed opportunities if they exist.

This role also develops strategy for long term growth of the Planned Giving pipeline in partnership with the Planned Giving Directors in order to successfully acquire more Planned Giving donors.

This role leads priority strategies and enterprise-wide initiatives within the Planned Giving department with a focus on supporting critical needs of the Society’s regions and mission. This role also partners with Enterprise Development teams and Region/Division Philanthropy leadership to facilitate the achievement of Planned Giving and Philanthropy revenue goals.

This role facilitates Region/Division engagement across Planned Giving and serves as a liaison between the Regional/Divisional leadership & staff and all Enterprise Development teams to ensure connectivity and excellence in execution especially as related to cross-functional and/or high-impact initiatives.

This role manages all Planned Giving operations and donor management initiatives. This role leads and influences adoption of best practices across ACS Regions/Divisions and partners.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Management of matching expectancies to income, including matching revenue to donor records, then against expectancies, and finally stewarding family members.
  • Manage processes and procedures to integrate Planned Giving into overall messaging nationwide including but not limited to data, dashboards, information sharing, to align with OneACS and to leverage larger asks for comprehensive campaigns.
  • Identify priorities to develop Planned Giving educational vehicles to communicate with boards and staff partners to leverage gifting for capital campaigns and overall planned giving goals.
  • In partnership with People Team, facilitate leadership development in planned giving creating training, internal and external education (matching glint responses and action needed).
  • Assist Senior Director, Development Resources with top priorities in ISFP and key metrics.
  • Create project metrics, milestones, and ensure timelines to completion also giving equitable alignment of growth across pillars.
  • Identify opportunities and create strategic plan to educate on business line and process/create plan and timeline for national partnerships to ensure increased expectancies to align with 160M a year, nationwide involvement in ACTEC, bar associations, top wealth management firms.
  • Partner with Philanthropy and Region/Division team members to train how to properly structure blended ask so that we achieve OneACS approach to donor-centricity.
  • Work to keep Planned Giving top of mind in all National, Regional and Field areas by educating team members on what a Planned Gift is.
  • Lead enterprise-wide Planned Giving operations supporting lead generation, stewardship, CRM analytics reporting, and cultivation of prospects and donors across all relationship-based revenue channels to leverage planned gifts for the enterprise.
  • Design and execute an enterprise-wide strategic operation plan to enhance planned giving presence (recognition programs, planned giving events in markets to create awareness, generate asks).
  • Assist SVP with creation & enhancement of cross functional teams for strategic direction to meet visioning goals & priorities outlined next 3 years (development collaboration, marketing, stewardship, finance, legal).

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

FORMAL KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or similarly related field or equivalent experience.
  • Ten or more years of experience driving collaborative engagement within regions or global headquarters staff preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of American Cancer Society Planned Giving program, strategies and organizational infrastructure a strong plus.
  • Ability to effectively manage projects from beginning to end
  • Non-profit or healthcare industry experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce – Planned Giving measurements & legal and finance Planned Giving accountability.

The starting rate is $70,000 to $92,000 per year. The final candidate's relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended. Actual starting pay will vary based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education
