Department Summary: The UCLA Center for LGBTQ+ Advocacy, Research, and Health (C-LARAH) is part of the Fielding School of Public Health, within the Department of Epidemiology. LARAH is derived from the Latin word “hilaris,” meaning cheerful. The mission of C-LARAH is to maintain an interdisciplinary, research-driven, evidence-based platform used to carry out public policy initiatives that improve the health and social well-being of sexual and gender minorities. C-LARAH is directed by the PI. Position Summary:
The Center for LGBTQ+ Research, Advocacy, and Health (C-LARAH) is seeking a dedicated Research Retention Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in a national, longitudinal clinical trial focused on HIV prevention in transgender women.
Salary & Compensation: *UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common.   • 2 years Experience working in the HIV prevention field (Preferred)
  • 2 years Experience working with the transgender community, especially transgender women and transgender youth (Preferred)
  • 2 years Experience conducting patient or research participant assessments (Preferred)
  • 2 years Experience in support services, health promotion, and/or a related field (Preferred)
  • Excellent time management skills. (Required)
  • Excellent organization and data management skills. (Required)
  • Excellent communication skills, in both a verbal and written format. (Required)
  • Ability to assist participants with diverse psychosocial needs. (Required)
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people, include sexual and gender minorities, racial/ethnic minorities, those who use substances, etc.. (Required)
  • Ability to work as a member of a large research team. (Required)
  • Ability to conduct job duties in an ethical, nonjudgmental, culturally competent, and nondiscriminatory manner. (Required)
Education, Licenses, Certifications, & Professional Affiliations:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
