Job Description:

PT Orientation Leader

Campus Location: Virtual/Lynn/Danvers

Work Schedule: 10-15 hours a week June/July/September, 15-20 hours a week August

Non-benefited position

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Orientation Leaders serve as a key information source for incoming students to North Shore Community College. As part of a team, each Orientation Leader will present information on a variety of topics at live in-person & virtual events, in-person tours and assist students in attendance with their questions/concerns about their upcoming experience at NSCC. Orientation Leaders will participate in training activities on a variety of topics such as: campus services, presentation styles, orientation best practices, how to engage in a variety of environments and more. The Orientation Leader Team will also take turns attending registration related activities to provide event logistical support within the virtual platform. The Orientation Leader Team will consist of 8-10 Orientation Leaders.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a resource for incoming students.
  • Give campus tours at the Danvers and/or Lynn Campus, as needed/requested.
  • Develop and facilitate presentations at New Student Orientation events.
  • Call and/or text new and prospective students to invite them for campus visits and answer questions about attending NSCC.
  • Assist with registration and graduation related activities.
  • Attend Orientation Leader training sessions and meetings.
  • Work with various campus departments as needed.
  • Be available to serve for the vast majority of Summer (and possibly Winter) Break.
  • Serve as a front desk assistant at campus/virtual enrollment centers as needed/requested.


Requirements:

  • Be a current student or recent student (within the past 2 years) of North Shore Community College.
  • Be able to work remotely with access to reliable internet for regular video conference activities.
  • Be able to work physically on campus in Lynn and/or Danvers campuses with access to reliable transportation as needed/requested.
  • Be enthusiastic, driven, creative, and friendly
  • Have a desire to prepare incoming students with useful knowledge for them to succeed.
  • Work well with in a team environment
  • Must be in good disciplinary standing with the College.
  • Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or a National background check as a condition of employment.


Additional Information:

SALARY: $16.00 per hour, non-benefited position.

STARTING DATE: ASAP
