Job Description

Job Title: Physician – Diagnostic Radiologist

Employer: Spectrum Services Group Inc

Location: Radiology Department, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda, MD

Position Type: 1099 Independent Contractor

Schedule/Duty Hours: Available 7 days per week, including federal holidays. Weekends may be required. Maximum of 2,020 hours per year.

On Call: 400 hours per year, with a pager required.

Reimbursement: Hourly, with a regular rate and on-call rate.

 

Compensation : $440,000 per year

Bonus: $225 per hour for hours actually worked and billed. Retention bonus of $20,000 per year, payable in 25% increments every 90 days.

Description:

Spectrum Services Group Inc is seeking a Physician – Diagnostic Radiologist to join our team at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. As an independent contractor, you will provide a full range of medical services in diagnostic radiology. The ideal candidate will have a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree, board certification by the American Board of Radiology, and relevant fellowship training or equivalent experience.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Degree as Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy from a recognized institution
  • Board certification by the American Board of Radiology
  • Current, active, valid, and unrestricted medical or osteopathic medical license
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Ability to pass security clearance
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass a security background check

Specific Duties:

  • Perform and interpret diagnostic images across various subspecialties of diagnostic radiology
  • Develop diagnostic plans based on clinical questions and relevant information
  • Provide patient counseling and education, including informed consent and conscious sedation
  • Perform image-guided procedures, biopsies, aspirations, infusions, and drainage
  • Communicate effectively with referring physicians and clinical personnel
  • Attend patient care conferences and professional activities
  • Maintain records and reports in compliance with regulations
  • Participate in quality assurance programs and performance improvement activities

Additional Requirements:

  • Familiarity with equipment and supply terminology
  • Ability to teach patients proper self-care and motivate them for rapid healing
  • Knowledge of age-related patient care needs
  • Competent in interviewing, examination, assessment, and management of patients
