Job Summary: The Relationship Manager will be the lead service team member with the ultimate responsibility of overall client satisfaction and retention for all assigned clients. The Relationship Manager must possess the skills and experience to provide proactive retirement client service, plan design, investment reviews, consulting work while managing overall client relationships. In addition to being the key contact for clients regarding the management of their retirement plans, the Relationship Manager provides assistance to the Sales team.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior management in the MEP Association Sponsors and Adopting Employers organization, SAMO plans, and Single Employer Plans to ensure retention of the business.
- Provide annual plan review meeting with clients to ensure plan is operating in good standing, preventing issues, recommending and implementing plan design enhancements, educating clients about what they have, why they have it and what else is available and update & upgrade client programs to include additional services offered by Pentegra while always striving to improve their plan performance.
- Serve as an internal client advocate looking after the best interest of clients and participants and providing expert problem resolution that builds trust, credibility and loyalty with clients and participants.
- Assist Sales team - participating in prospect meetings and/or final presentations.
- Coordinates relationship management activities with the sales, marketing, legal, investments and other internal functional areas.
- Delivers accurate and complete results adhering to Pentegra’s internal controls.
- Review and interpret plan document provisions.
- Explain annual compliance tests and Form 5500.
- Support of other functional areas (Client Transition, Compliance, etc)
Requirements:
- 5-10 years of retirement plan related industry experience.
- Bachelor’s degree - preferably in business accounting or finance or equivalent education or work experience.
- Expertise in Defined Contribution and/or Defined Benefit plan consulting, recordkeeping and administration.
- Very limited travel.
- Excellent written, verbal, public speaking and presentation skills.
- Experience working with client senior management and Board members.
- Comfortable training clients and working through issues with clients and with advisors.
- Strong understanding of ERISA and industry related laws and regulations.
- ASPPA or other industry specific designation preferred but not necessary.
- Series 6 licensed preferred.
