Dr Monica Scheel Dermatology is searching for a reliable Phone Agent to assist our front office and clinical staff with various scheduling and important patient-facing correspondence. This role schedules, sends reminders, and communicates with patients for a smooth experience in their appointments at Dr. Monica Scheel Dermatology. They also perform administrative tasks such as obtaining consent forms and informing patients of test results or insurance inquiries. An ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of medical and cosmetic terminology.

Administrative Duties (may include, but not limited to):

  • Effectively and efficiently managing providers' schedules
  • Scheduling appointments by phone, email, or portal
  • Collecting and accurately inputting patient data, demographic, and insurance information
  • Collecting and processing payments
  • Directing patients to the Patient Portal where they can access receipts, medical notes, and invoices with codes as needed to file independent insurance claims
  • Recommending medical and cosmetic dermatology treatments and appointments as appropriate for the patient's needs
  • Recommending and selling products to patients
  • Checking and responding to email, portal, chats, and tasks daily

Qualifications:

  • Ability to multi-task and think on one's feet in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in a remote environment, responding to multiple modalities of communication
  • High level of treatment and product knowledge to best recommend to patients
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and attention to accuracy
  • Enthusiastic and willing to learn
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Always maintain professionalism, tact, discretion, and confidentiality
  • 1 year in call center/customer service role
  • 1 year of remote work experience in healthcare industry (preferred)
  • Hawaii Island resident preferred

Pay: From $18-$20/hr, based on experience. Phone Agents with at least two years of relevant experience as a call-center/customer service agent in a healthcare setting are eligible for higher starting pay.

Schedule: Availability Monday through Saturday, 32-40 hour week, 4-5 days a week
