West Virginia University Graduate Admissions is currently accepting applications for a Recruitment Strategist.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Assistant Director, this position develops recruitment strategies and works collaboratively with graduate programs to develop, implement and evaluate recruitment tactics focused on graduate and professional student recruitment and retention. Also responsible for the execution of centralized recruitment initiatives. The position serves as a strategist, connector and innovator in executing strong centralized recruitment initiatives in cooperation with programs across campus.

What you'll do:

  • Collaborate with Graduate Admissions Director and Assistant Director on university wide recruitment and enrollment strategies.
  • Work directly with college key contacts to develop college and program specific recruitment goals.
  • Working with college key contacts, collaborate on recruitment strategies, create buy-in with college constituents and implement strategies
  • Maintain ongoing communications with WVU program contacts to stay abreast of current program information and to ensure admissions decisions are being made and communicated in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with various units across campus that provide support to potential and current graduate students including Student Financial Services, WVU Housing, The Office of Graduate Education and Life, The Purpose Center and Student Affairs.
  • Develop and participate in online information sessions on topics related to graduate admissions and enrollment.
  • Monitor and evaluate success of strategies and share results with college contacts and Graduate Admissions and Recruitment leadership.
  • Utilize multiple communication methods (phone, email, social media, events) to engage with prospective graduate and professional students. Provide accurate information on admission requirements, application process and funding opportunities.
  • Manage roster of inquiries and applicants in CRM. Record and track student engagements.
  • Create and regularly monitor reports in CRM to provide data for recruitment reporting. Reports should include data on inquiries, applications, admits and enrolled students.
  • Create and implement centralized recruitment and admission communication plans using the CRM system. These are communications that apply to large audiences.
  • Work with individual graduate programs across campus to develop program specific recruitment and admission communication flows using the CRM system. Highlight unique attributes of programs, students and alumni. Meet regularly with program contacts to update and enhance communications.
  • Connect with faculty, alumni and current students to create program-relevant recruitment assets.
  • Create recruitment strategies that ensure visibility of research activities among graduate and professional programs.
  • Ensure timely delivery of responses and assistance
  • Participate in unit-specific and university-wide market research efforts, utilizing market research, enrollment management data, focus groups and audience surveys to guide strategic direction.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of professional student recruitment events like Graduate Discover WVU Day and Colloquium.
  • Create and oversee a graduate and professional ambassador group.
  • Participate in NAGAP and other graduate enrollment related professional organizations for professional development and staying current on recruitment and enrollment trends.
  • Other duties as assigned by Assistant Director and Director of Graduate Admissions and Recruitment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience in the following:
    • Higher Education, Marketing, Recruitment, Advertising, Public Relations, Sales

  • All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.
