Summary:
Under the direction of the Vice President of Ancillary Services, provides patient navigation services for radiopharmaceutical infusion therapy. This position encompasses complete navigation to include identification of potential patients, discussion with physicians and site support staff, management of the patient and related activities needed to provide services and follow up care. Will maintain patient data for reporting purposes. Will provide training to clinical team as needed.
PRIMARY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversees the clinical care coordination of radiopharmaceutical infusion therapy.
    • Identification of potential patients
    • Participates in consultation, scheduling and overall management of timely patient throughout.
    • Ensures smooth handoff of patient care information and coordination
    • Is the consistent point of contact between the patient, clinic and providers
    • Provides patient education of procedure
    • Responsible for the scheduling and planning of patient appointments to include all testing/labs and follow up care
  • Assists professional and technical staff on selection, location, and implementation at new locations.
  • Participates in the evaluation of potential new locations and advises professional and technical staff on the selection and implementation of these.
  • Ensures that professional and technical staff training.
  • Participates in the development of Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintains patient data and provides service line reports as requested.
  • Participates in marketing of program with internal and external providers.
  • Maintains a dosimetry database so patient doses can be calculated whenever a clinical need exists.
  • Performs fetal dose estimates whenever a clinical need is identified.
  • Assists in the production of patient and staff educational documents to ensure they are adequately informed about radiological issues.
  • Designs, evaluates, and certifies the shielding of diagnostic facilities to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Follows established work procedures and processes that support company and departmental standards, procedures, and strategic directives.
  • Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, and efficiency/effectiveness.
  • Projects a favorable image of the company to promote its aims and objectives and foster and enhance public recognition and acceptance of all of its areas of endeavor.
  • Keeps immediate superior promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action that may be taken.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:
  • ARRT – CNMT, CNMT-PET, NMTCB, N
EXPERIENCE:
  • At least 3 years of clinical experience and a strong commitment to the highest clinical standards.
  • Clinical knowledge of radiopharmaceutical infusion therapy
