We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Manager with a focus on selling our portfolio of products that’s focused on the local, state and US Government. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated self-starter, able to build strong relationships and lead sales calls with the buying team or business owners. Must be comfortable analyzing sales data, presenting and demonstrating current assortment of tools and recommending products to meet customer’s needs while delivering long and short term sales goals. This individual will have consistent focus on managing the GSA and like platforms plus capable of managing key contract bids.


Essential Functions

  • Achieve quarterly and annual sales budget.
  • Build business plan/s to drive short and long term sales goals for top customers.
  • Able to complete weekly business updates, sales presentations for specific tools and knives as well as hands on demonstration and training of retail associates on Leatherman products.
  • Analyzing sales data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Execute sales promotions, merchandising programs to grow existing business.
  • Work with Marketing to develop and execute promotional plans to drive brand awareness, gain additional brand exposure and participate in customer events.
  • Build and leverage lasting relationships with customers to drive Leatherman’s long-term business goals, by traveling to customers’ retail location/s, providing suggested orders and seek out opportunities to increase sales and brand strength.
  • Collaborate with other cross functional teams, finance, logistics, marketing & product development, by provide solutions when customers issue arise.
  • Create and deliver effect product presentation to new & existing channel partners.
  • Maintain current, accurate and detailed data in Salesforce/CRM, providing accurate accounts of sales calls, needs, follow up and potential opportunities.
  • Provide weekly and monthly regional report on account status, issues and opportunities for cross functional teams (Marketing, Sales and Product).
  • Participate & staff industry partner reseller shows like: AUSA, MDM, & SHOT.
  • Self-starter mentality, with high motivation and strong organizational skills.

Education and/or Experience

  • BA/BS Degree or technical equivalent military/government background or operational experience.
  • Eight years prior business, acquisition or program development experience or military equivalent acquisition or operational experience.
  • Experience developing and winning new business opportunities within targeted agencies/organizations.
  • Exchange knowledge preferred.
  • Independent sales representative management.

Compensation

  • Consist of a base with a potential for bonus based on company and individual performance.
  • Car & Travel allowance.
  • Cell Phone reimbursement.

Travel

  • Job requires travel primarily by air and car with lodging in hotels.
  • Trips may have a duration 7-10 days and call for travel over the weekends.

Location (home office)

  • May live anywhere in the US but must have close proximity to a major airport.
