Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Work closely with data analysts to transform specification into client algorithms (4 Oracle, 2 Snowflake)
  • Code complex procedures to support new client algorithms (4 Oracle, 2 Snowflake)
  • Contribute to technical documentation of specifications and processes
  • Responsible for weekly data loads and balancing of 9 accounts (6 Oracle, 3 Snowflake)
  • Investigate data anomalies to determine root cause, specify appropriate changes and work with engineering and operations teams as the change is implemented and tested
  • Research client questions on data results by identifying underlying data elements leveraged and providing descriptions of data transformations involved
  • Work closely with engineering and operations teams to answer questions and resolve data issues that arise
  • Extracting and replicating data into a common data mart
  • Drive adoption of best practices and agreed upon design patterns
  • Communicate clearly and effectively in oral and written forms, and be able to present and demonstrate work to technical and non-technical leadership

Required Qualifications: 

  • 10 years of Oracle database experience
  • 5 years of experience with data warehouses/marts supporting business requirements
  • 5 years of intermediate to advanced PL/SQL and SQL experience (ability to create queries/joins)
  • 5 years of UNIX command prompt navigation, including VI editor (Shell Scripts) 
  • 5 years of experience working with healthcare data, to include 2 years with claims data 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience working in a matrixed environment on a fast-paced project
  • Experience developing within an agile (i.e. Scrum or Kanban) framework
  • Experience with Snowflake
  • Experience with data loading tools (Talend, Informatica, Data Factory, ODI)
  • Exposure to cloud environments experience (Azure)

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $88,000 to $173,200 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
